"My best guess is this was taken in the late 1880's or early 1890's, and that of Konrad at the same time. . . . Location would be New Douglas, IL. The originals of these pictures are about 14x20 inches. They and the same size pictures of my grandmother's parents hung in the parlor at their home in Spokane. I remember as a child peeking into the parlor and seeing them. That was a no-no. The parlor was used for wakes, weddings, and if the priest came to visit."
